Smooth Greensnake (Opheodrys vernalis) with spider prey
Opheodrys vernalis (Harlan, 1827) - Smooth Greensnake. Found at Black River State Forest in west central Wisconsin. Jackson County, Wisconsin, USA.
It had a spider as prey. Spider was hanging from the side of its mouth. It seemed to possibly be having trouble swallowing it. I couldn't tell for sure so I just let it be. Hopefully it was okay.
