Robber Fly (Hybozelodes sp.) with prey

Hybozelodes sp. Thanks to Dr. Chris Cohen for providing the determination on 'diptera.info' website. Found at Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (REGUA), in Cachoeiras de Macacu municipality in state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil.

 

Prey looks to be a sap beetle (Nitidulidae).

 

Found on Green Trail (Trilha Verde).
