Robber Fly ovipositing
Found at Ecolodge Itororó reserve, in/near Nova Friburgo municipality in state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil.
Ovipositing in a large bare earth area of the trail. Unfortunately I was unable to sneak in close to this one. Usually they are easier to approach when they are busy ovipositing. This one was very skittish. I searched this area numerous times but saw no others.
