Robber Fly (Mallophora sp.) with prey

Male Mallophora sp., possibly undescribed. Thanks to Dr. Eric Fisher for providing the determination on 'diptera.info' website. Found at Ecolodge Itororó reserve, in/near Nova Friburgo municipality in state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil.

 

Prey is a wasp of sorts.
