Ant-mimic Tiger Beetle
Found at Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (REGUA), in Cachoeiras de Macacu municipality in state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil.
Presumably Ctenostoma sp. ID help appreciated.
Found on Green Trail (Trilha Verde). It was running around on a pile of small dead branches at side of trail. From a distance I thought it was a weird-looking ant. When I disturbed it, it froze in place and allowed me some nice shots. I saw three of these at this location during my stay, all on tree limbs/branches.
