Robber Fly (Mallophora cf. parasylveirii) with prey

Female Mallophora cf. parasylveirii Artigas & Angulo 1980. Thanks to Dr. Eric Fisher for providing the determination on 'diptera.info' website. Found at Finca Las Piedras, near town of Monterrey in Madre de Dios region in southeastern Peru.

 

Prey is a stingless bee worker in genus Trigona or Tetragona. Thanks to Bernhard Jacobi for the determination.
