Syrphid Fly

Found at Finca Las Piedras, near town of Monterrey in Madre de Dios region in southeastern Peru.

 

ID help appreciated. Pretty sure it's a syrphid. Maybe Salpingogaster sp.?

 

Single exposure, significantly cropped, handheld, in situ. Canon MT-24EX flash unit, Ian McConnachie diffuser.

Done
