Robber Fly (Promachus sp.)

Male Promachus sp. Found at Swartberg Hiking Trail - De Hoek trail head, SE of Prince Albert. Western Cape, South Africa.

 

A large robber. These were mostly perching on sides and sometimes tops of rocks on the trail.
