Blister Beetle (Pleuropasta reticulata)
Pleuropasta reticulata Van Dyke, 1947. Found at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge in eastern New Mexico. Chaves County, New Mexico, USA.
Saw a couple of these during the heat of the day. They were running around very swiftly on the bare soil occasionally stopping to seemingly oviposit on the soil surface or to visit short clumps of flowers.
