Robber Fly with prey
Female Scleropogon duncani (Bromley, 1937), I assume based on images of male at same site expertly IDed by Eric Fisher as that species on bugguide. Found about 0.7 km ExNE of Amado in southern Arizona. Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA.
Prey is a true bug of sorts, possibly a squash bug in Family Coreidae. Found early to mid-morning, hence the bit of dew on the robber's thorax.
Single exposure, uncropped, handheld, in situ. Canon MT-24EX flash unit, Ian McConnachie diffuser.
