Robber Fly (Andrenosoma tectamum)

Female Andrenosoma tectamum (Walker, 1849). Thanks to Greg Daniels for providing the species determination via private email. Found on Auburn River National Park access road. Queensland, Australia.

 

Seemed to be ovipositing in the bark at times.
