Mexican Twotailed Spider with prey
Neotama mexicana (O. P.-Cambridge, 1893) - Mexican Twotailed Spider. Found at Resaca De La Palma State Park in far southern Texas. Cameron County, Texas, USA.
This individual was small and presumably immature. Prey is possibly an ant?
Found on a metal stantion holding up a kiosk/rest area roof, right about here - N 25.99200 W 97.56372
I had trouble getting a good shot as it was above my head and at a really bad angle and I did not want to scare it off its meal.
Single exposure, uncropped, handheld, in situ. Canon MT-24EX flash unit, Ian McConnachie diffuser.
