Round Sand Beetle

Omophron sp. (probably O. americanum). Found at Grant Park in South Milwaukee in south-eastern Wisconsin. Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

I found this individual in a small chamber in moist sand under a drift log on a sandy Lake Michigan beach.

 

Single exposure, uncropped, handheld, in situ. Canon MT-24EX flash unit, Ian McConnachie and plastic cup diffuser.
