Robber Fly

Found at Gamkaberg Nature Reserve, WSW of Oudtshoorn. Western Cape, South Africa.

 

Male Asilinae of sorts. I'm thinking Synolcus sp., based on the terminalia.

 

Saw numerous individuals of this species perching on tops of rocks on this overcast day, both males and females.
