Cryptic Slime Mold Beetle
Sphindus sp., I believe. Found at Bastrop State Park in central Texas, ESE of Austin. Bastrop County, Texas, USA.
There are a lot of downed trees at this State Park and I saw a lot of slime molds on my recent visit. Many of the slime mold fruiting bodies were being grazed upon by these beetles.
