Shield Mantis
Found at La Selva Biological Station, near Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí. Heredia Province, Costa Rica.
Presumably Choeradodis sp.
On this night a fellow researcher kindly pointed this awesome animal out to me. He had found it on the exterior wall of the dining hall building at light and had moved it to some foliage for some pictures. I got a few shots before it started to rain.
