Beetle Pupa

Gibbifer californicus (Lacordaire 1842), I believe. Found at Madera Canyon in Santa Rita Mountains. Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA.

 

Found slightly less than waist high on underside of fallen tree that was blocking path.
