Mating Longhorned Beetles

Necydalis mellita (Say 1835). Gotham Jack Pine Barrens SNA in south west-central Wisconsin. Richland County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Found about chest high on a shrub. They went at it for a good long while. Eventually the diminutive male left.
