Robber Fly with prey

Heteropogon sp., I believe. Prey is possibly a stink bug. Found at Welder Wildlife Refuge north of Corpus Christi. San Patricio County, Texas, USA.

 

These can be found perching mostly on bare branch tips and I also found them perching on barbed wire fences at the refuge. Another approachable and tolerant genus for photography.
