High Street, Newmarket old postcard 1970s
The Jockey Club was supposed to be the point of interest, but that hasn't changed much so let's consider the vehicles instead....
The Avenger looks like it's in use as a taxi, not something I can recall being a common choice. If it's a local one it obviously pre-dates the time when they had to be painted black with a yellow bonnet and boot (see the next card along).
Escort Mk1 maybe a sporty model with its black rear panel? Likewise the yellow Mk3 Cortina across the road looks to be a 2-door with sport wheels and twin round lights, so maybe a GT?
DAF/Volvo estate behind the Renault 5?
I don't recognise the livery on the Bedford TK.
I was slightly puzzled by the grey pickup pulling out into the road, but I now think it's a Marina?
