Main Street, Peasenhall, Suffolk old postcard early 1980s
Not the cheapest card I've bought, but quite a bit to consider so I'll say it offers me good value for money....
I used to do quite bit of work around this area in the early-mid 1990s and often drove through Peasenhall. There were certainly cars like this around then, it's the sort of place where things change quite slowly. I still like going through there now.
The Suffolk-registered Maxi ORT 276M looks like it might have had a knock on the front corner? It made it to 1987, which wasn't too bad. The Fiesta WGH 155W was a 957cc Base model which again did OK, lasting to the end of 1996. I can imagine it was a rattly thing by then.
Mini Clubman up the road looks like it might have a Suffolk PV plate on it? It's outside the post office and shop which I believe is still running.
There is also garage content to consider, with Whincop just up the road on the left. I think they are Avia signs? In 1980 it looks like they still had BP pumps, going by this photo: flic.kr/p/22AhSMP
It looks like Whincop are still active as a garage and coach operator, but even back in 2009 the fuel pumps appear to have gone.
