Old Postcard - High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk 1980s
Somewhere I know moderately well, as we usually visit there several times a year. Even got the odd car spot taken on this very street.
Plenty of early-80s stuff on show and a few from the '70s and even earlier: Renaults 12, 18 and Fuego, several versions of Escort Mk2, Audi 80, Talbot Sunbeam, Maxi, Mini Clubman estate, Vauxhall Astra Mk1, a couple of Mk1 Cavaliers, facelift Granada Mk2, Morris Minor hiding behind the Maxi, VW Beetle and perhaps most impressive the Vanden Plas Princess 1300 right in the foreground.
Aldeburgh still has a genteel charm with wealthy retirees living there, though like much of the Suffolk coast it's now popular with London weekenders.
This card is apparently from 1988 (though I think the photo pre-dates that a bit) and was published by F.W. Pawsey & Sons Ltd, Ipswich.
