47114 Battledown 28th September 2001
47114 ''Freighliner Bulk'' passes Battledown flyover with 4024, the 09:38 Crewe Basford Hall to Southampton Maritime on 28th September 2001.
47114 was on borrowed time as on 17th October that year it caught fire at Biggleswade whilst working 4L63 Leeds to Tilbury liner service. It never ran again and was disposed of by C.F. Booth, Rotherham in March 2005. The loco was one of 5 built in 1965/6 with a Sulzer V12 12LVA engine and classified as a Class 48. In July 1968 a standard twin bank 12LDA28C engine was fitted and it became a 47.
