47635 Dundas 1st June 2002

47635 is just about to pass under the aqueduct at Dundas with 1Z46 05:22 Yeovil Junction to Holyhead charter. According to the Six Bells Junction website the tour was called "The North Wales Excursion" and featured 46035 from Crewe to Holyhead and return. www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/00s/020601pt.htm

 

 

The parcel sector liveried Class 47 was built at Crewe and entered service allocated to Landore as D1606 on July 29th 1964. Under TOPS it became 47029, then 47635 in June 86 once ETH equipment had been fitted. It was named twice, originally "The Lass O'Ballochmyle" and later Jimmy Milne after the" trade unionist. Eventually withdrawn on February 28th 2007 it ended up in preservation and current at the Epping and Ongar Railway.
