313215 Brighton 4th April 2023
313215 waiting to leave Brighton with 1S26, the 15:00 to Portsmouth Harbour on 4th April 2023. The BREL (York) built unit entered traffic in 1976 as 313015 working out of Kings Cross and Moorgate on Greater Northern inner suburban services.
A reshuffle of stock in 1988 saw it transferred to North London line services along with other suburban services from Euston having been renumbered to 314115 to reflect modifications needed for its new role.
By May 2010 the unit had gone through a heavy overhaul at Webtec, Doncaster and transferred to Southern for coastline services to Portsmouth in the West and Sleaford in the East numbered as 313215 and allocated to Brighton.
