37401, 37426 Knucklas Viaduct 28th May 2000
37401, 37426 rumble over the 13 arch Knucklas viaduct on the Central Wales line with 6M24, the 06:20 Margam - Dee Marsh steel coils on 28th May 2000. A number of us drove over to mid Wales for the steel train diversions caused by a new bridge being installed at Bridgend despite a late drinking session the previous evening. Severn freight services were out woking that day, inc 2 pairs of 37’s on out and back Dee Marsh workings. Being heavy trains and severe restrictions on the line along with having to wait at passing loops made chasing the trains relatively easy. I can't imagine diversions being allowed in 2021.
