08994 Cwmmawr 28th March 1996
A view on the penultimate day of operation at the coal disposal point at Cwmmawr in West Wales on 28th March 1996. On this day 08994 "Gwendraeth" was in charge and shunts HEA's to form its train to the washery down the line at Coedbach which ran as 8B08, the 11:00 departure. The second wagon behind the loco in grey livery was one of approximately 30 that were painted for a flow of Slag from Port talbot to ARC at West Drayton. As far as I know only one train ever ran.
08994 was the former 08462 and is currently owned by HNRC and stored at Nemesis Rail, Burton on Trent.
