37610, 37612 Bathampton 20th May 2020

37610 leads a Network Rail test train with 37612 on the rear at Bathampton Junction with a 1Z22 08:20 Tysley to Bristol High Level on 20th May 2020. The train had just come up from Weymouth and spent the rest of the evening going back and forth to Westbury before a quick trip to Hallen Marsh. 37610 was new to Cardiff Canton in October 1963 as D6881. It had a rebuild at Crewe in March 87 and a changed of its then I.D of 37181 into 37687 before a new career started as a construction loco based off Tinsley, its first ever allocation away from the Western. It swaped around pools, sectors and depots until it was chosen to become an EPS loco which brought a further rebuild and renumber into 37610. Over the years it became a DRS loco and has found use on test trains across the country.
