56125 Calverton 10th April 1995

56125 waiting to leave Calverton Colliry with a 7Z65 10:45 departure to Ironbridge power Station on 10th April 1995. Not sure how we found this train but I remember it was touch and go with the sun. The loco had a traction inspector on board and we asked if he could delay their departure until the sun also came out on the colliery buildings in the background. He agreed to 5 minutes but unfornitually we never got the picture, this being the best effort. Calverton opened in 1939 with a projected 125 year lifespan but in practice only lasted until 1999, closure coming on July 9th of that year. It was demolished during 2000 and nothing now remains of the Nottinghamshire pit that once employed 1500 people. The Class 56 is still around working for DCR as 56303
