25032 Pilning 28th May 1982
25032 climbs out of the Severn Tunnel at Pilning with a mixed freight at 14:12 on 28th May 1982.
Built at the BR Darlington Locomotive Works, the former D5182 was new to traffic on 19th March 1963 and initially allocated to Gateshead. By late 1970 it had arrived at Newport Ebbw Junction to start a 6 year stint allocated to South Wales depots. October 1976 saw it move to the Midland where it spent time at Longsight and Crewe before withdrawn came on 10th March 1986 whilst parked at Holbeck. Languishing at Toton for a few years it was finally dragged to Vic Berry's Leicester yard in July 1988, meeting its demise the first week of 1989. The loco was built without train heating so spent most of its years on freight traffic, passenger jaunts being somewhat rare.
