62-1149 hauling service R2068, the 07:42 Sibiu - Râmnicu Vâlcea crosses an old junction at Râmnicu Vâlcea Nord on 29th April 2018. The junction here was for the ill-fated line 219 to Vâlcelele & Piteşti. The 39km line was built between 1979 and 1989 with some impressive structures such as the 2.25 km tunnel Gibei and the 1.4km viaduct Topolog. The line shut in 1998 with all track lifted by 2004 due to the apauling build quailty of the line which suffered frequent landslides due to the poor quaity infil used on embankments etc.
