Crystal Clear

I found this item whilst knocking through a chimney breast and behind the false wall were a smashed up castiron fire place were the coal fire used to be was this little thing. First of all I thought this was a door handle or a handle of a poker but looking at it it's about 3 inches tall and hollow and flat bottomed but no idea what it could be, maybe a perfume bottle?
