Showy Emerald (Dichorda iridaria) moth as found.

Point Pelee National Park, Essex County, Ontario, Canada.

June 7, 2008.

 

This caterpillar of this particular Emerald (there are lots of species in this family) feed on Sumacs and Poison Ivy.
