Jupiter - Old radio restoration
01-Restoration old "radio Geloso G57R" year 1939-1941
I bought this radio on e-bay on August 15, 2008 for a ten euro or so. Maybe because it was a public holiday and no one looks at e-bay ! ...
A purchase in the dark but it turned out to be beneficial. This is a GELOSO G57R , 4 reception bands , which remained in production until 1941. After this date , less than an oversight on my part , no longer appears in the catalogs GELOSO after '41 . The radio was sold in kit form or piece - piece . The specimen in my possession has been acquired and handled well by most people. I also think it has never worked or worked badly unsuitable links with the scheme , the component values are also not consistent with the parts list , missing pieces as the screens for the valves. Regarding the valves , albeit externally battered , are 100% efficient . Therefore I believe that the assembly (though I do not think I've ever worked) was an inexpensive way to have a radio in a period , the post -war period, really hard .
Now it works perfectly, missing only the restoration of the cabinet, but it takes time for that ! ...

Acquistai questa radio su e-bay il 15 agosto del 2008 per una decina di euro o poco più. Forse perché era un giorno festivo e nessuno guarda e-bay!...
Un acquisto al buio che però si è rivelato vantaggioso. Si tratta di una Geloso G57R, 4 bande di ricezione, rimasta in produzione fino al 1941. Dopo questa data, a meno di una mia svista, non compare più sui cataloghi GELOSO successivi al '41. La radio era venduta in scatola di montaggio oppure pezzo-pezzo. L'esemplare in mio possesso deve stata acquistata così e maneggiata da più persone. Inoltre credo che non abbia mai funzionato o funzionato male: collegamenti non consoni con lo schema, valori dei componenti anche questi non coerenti con la lista componenti, pezzi mancanti come gli schermi per le valvole. Per quanto riguarda le valvole, seppur esternamente malconce, sono efficienti al 100%. Pertanto credo che l'assemblaggio (anche se penso che non abbia mai funzionato) sia stato un modo economico per avere una radio in un periodo, quello post-bellico, veramente difficile.
Ora funziona alla perfezione, manca soltanto il restauro del mobile, ma per quello ci vuole tempo!
