"In 2014, a report found that the housing crisis in France affected roughly 10 million people, including 3.5 million who do not have a stable home.
About a hundred activists, including families with their children, gathered on Friday in front of the Ministry of Housing in Paris, for the annual Christmas protest against evictions.
The action is organized each year by the 25-year-old Right For Housing Association, which organizes across France.
The activists brought a Christmas tree to this year’s event and rang bells in front of the ministry in order to draw the minister's attention to a housing crisis they claim is getting worse.
“The government is making cuts to the housing benefits [in the 2016 budget]. We are going in the wrong direction. We need a consistent housing policy that allows lower classes to live correctly,” said Right To Housing's spokesperson Jean-Baptiste Eyraud."
