25 Armhole interfacing

The pattern specifies hair canvas for all interfacing. I consider this to be too stiff for this fabric. After reading that Davidow often used unbleached calico/muslin I decide to compromise.

For the armhole area, front and back I’m using this very fine tropical weight wool canvas. Elsewhere I’m using a fine unbleached cotton.

I used a tracing wheel and carbon to mark the seam lines.

Do not expect that this interfacing will lie flat on the garment, as shown in the instructions – you have already built in a lot of shape.
