White Poplar (Populus treuloides)

Photographed the emerging White Poplar catkins at Hersey Lake Conservation Area located in the Township of Tisdale in the City of Timmins in Northeastern Ontario Canada

White Poplar trees, both trembling and quaking, have male and female flowers (catkins) on separate trees, appearing as fuzzy, dangling clusters before the leaves emerge in spring, with male catkins releasing pollen and female catkins developing into seed-bearing capsules.
