17 london Royal Observatory, Greenwich
Taken in January 2016. The view looking back towards the viewpoint of the previous picture (near the statue). Home of the Greenwich Meridian, separating the eastern and western hemispheres. The time ball on top of the building was installed in 1833 and is raised just before 13:00 every day and dropped precisely at 13:00 to give mariners and anyone else who happens to be looking a chance to adjust their timepieces.
