View of Victorian Garden and Slade Dale Cottage at Lovelandtown in Bay Head

Lovelandtown was the name of the first community in the Point Pleasant area, and it's located within the borough of Point Pleasant, not Bay Head. While the Loveland family did settle in the Bay Head area around 1837, they didn't establish the town of Lovelandtown there.

 

Lovelandtown is generally defined as east of the canal and south of Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant.
