The Tenant House and Canal Society of New Jersey Headquarters
This is a one family timber framed residence built around 1860, At one time it was the residence of the village school teacher in the Victorian era and at a different time the home of Harrison Smith, a boatman on the canal.
Today it houses the museum of The Canal Society of New Jersey. It provides information about the engineering and history of the Morris Canal via engaging displays and historic artifacts. These include drawings, photographs, and artifacts of the canal along with models' of a barge and canal lock.
