British Patrol Attempts Protect the Bridge from Capture

The British Patrol on the Bridge over Spotswood South Brook It is located at the bottom of the hill.

Actually there are two bridges. This one is on the left and is clearly visible from Combs Hill.

Here a British Patrol is checking the bridge attempting to protect the rear column and stop the Continental Army from crossing.

Note the top of the Blue Regimental Flag sticking out above the trees. It has not yet been seen by the patrol.
