British Grenadiers of the 40th Regiment of Foot
The British Grenadiers of the 40th Regiment were originally raised in Nova Scotia, Canada
British Grenadiers under the command of General Charles Lord Cornwallis . These were rearguard elements of General Sir Henry Clinton’s British Army.
They were on their way to Sandy Hook to board ships that would take them back to New York.
The grenadiers wore red coats, with bearskin caps.
