The Old Tennent Presbyterian Church

A group of Presbyterians was exiled from the south of Scotland and sold into indentured servanthood to this part of Monmouth County in the 1680's. The members of this parish built this church in 1751 on a hill next to the Revolutionary War's Monmouth Battlefield.

It is located in Manalapan, New Jersey.

The church was named in memory of pastors John Tennent and his brother William Tennent. The Old Tennent Cemetery is still located on the same property.
