The Trephine was used to release pressure or fluid from the brain caused by a skull fracture.

 

Before an amputation the screw tourniquet was placed above where the limbs would be cut, It was tightened with a screw to compress the arteries to slow the loss of blood.

 

The bullets show the teeth marks of soldiers going through the surgery without anesthesia.
