The Beautiful Williamsburg Inn

The Williamsburg Inn was built in 1937 by John D. Rockefeller Jr. It features neoclassical architectural design and the ambience of a comfortable Southern country estate.

 

When the newly christened “Williamsburg Inn” debuted in 1937, it immediately became the most popular vacation destination in the entire region.

 

Some of the famous people that gave stayed or visited this historic inn include: General George C. Marshall, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, as well many movie and broadway stars and other famous people.
