The White House

The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States. The house was designed by James Hoban, an Irishman living in Charleston, South Carolina. The design of the house influenced by the first and second floors of Leinster House, in Dublin, Ireland, which later became the seat of the Irish parliament.
