Patriots Farewell Fountain on the Green in Morristown

The Patriots Farewell fountain and monument is located on the historic "Green" in Morristown, New Jersey. Morristown is rich in Colonial history, as General George Washington spent two critical winters of the Revolutionary War, 1777 and 1779–80. The countryside in and around Morristown, sheltered the main encampments of the American Continental Army. General Washington chose Morristown due to its strategic location, including proximity to New York City, defensible terrain, important communication routes, access to critical resources, and a supportive community. The Ford Mansion, in Morristown is where Washington made his headquarters during this period. The Fountain was a Benefactored by the Deskovick Family and Sculptured by Robert ST Croix in 2001.
