Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island, Ocean County

Listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places this handsome 165 foot red and white tower gives you a bird's-eye view of Long Beach Island to the south and Island Beach State Park to the north. Built in 1835 it marks the hazardous shoals as well as the fortieth parallel, a point crucial to transaltantic navigation.
