Tent Life at Ocean Grove, Monmouth County at the Jersey Shore
Perhaps the most unique thing for which Ocean Grove is known are the tents. In 1878 there were 506 tents in this town. Today 114 still remain. Most of these tents surround the Great Auditorium. The tents are owned by the Methodist Camp Meeting Association and leased to families. Some tents have been in the smae family for generations.
