The St. Patrick Window located in the south transept of the Cathedral
This is a special window because it is considered as the Founders’ Window. It depicts St. Patrick dressed as a bishop, the apostle of Ireland, preaching to a group of people while in the background workmen build a church. The lower three panels show the architect James Renwick submitting his plans for the cathedral to Archbishop Hughes who is seated at the table . Cardinal McCloskey is standing holding part of the plans.
This window was James Renwick's gift to the cathedral.
